I'm always deceived by the thumbnails on the DeviantArt page--I was convinced this was a photo of a cockatoo until I clicked on it. Your technique is very good, you created a very convincing cockatoo. I especially like the attention to detail you showed such as including the tongue in the parrot's mouth (my parrots are always touching their tongues to their beak for me) or fluffing up the feathers around the parrot's face, a sign of joy and contentedness. The green background also provides a nice contrast to the pink cockatoo. I wish I could see the full image.

My only concern was that I could not properly identify the parrot's species. My first thought was that it was a Galah cockatoo because of the color and stumpy crest, but Galahs have white crests. Then I thought it was a Pink cockatoo, but they have bright pink feathers at their ceres and longer crests that flip at the end. Both of the above species have lighter beaks. The dark beak shown here is more common for the white cockatoos.

Of course, you might not have been going for an actual species (or maybe it was just a species I didn't recognize, I'm not a parrot expert), so I didn't take away from my rankings. Either way, you made a very beautiful piece of art about a very soft, very happy cockatoo. Bravo!
